talent for the BPO industry

Launches '24/7 Varsity' program, the first of its kind in the BPO industry

Bangalore, May 31, 2006: 24/7 Customer, a leading global provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services and the world's first offshore-based, integrated Customer Lifecycle Management services provider to Global 1000 companies, launched an innovative education program called "24/7 Varsity" in association with the Department of IT and Communications of Government of Andhra Pradesh (AP). "24/7 Varsity" is a first of its kind initiative in the BPO industry. The 24/7 Varsity was formally inaugurated with the launch of 'Train the Trainer', one of its key learning programs. This learning program has been designed for lecturers and professors of educational institutions to educate and enhance the talent of their students and equip them with skills required to leverage career opportunities in the BPO industry. In the first phase English professors and lecturers from over 25 colleges across tier II cities of Andhra Pradesh will be trained on the various facets of communication. The sessions will take place at the 24/7 Customer facility at Somajiguda, Hyderabad. This program will also be extended to tier II cities across other states.

On completion of the program, the English professors will be able to conduct classes and impart the training received to interested students at their respective colleges / educational institutions. At the end of the contact program, the students will be assessed, evaluated and the certified students would be better qualified for a career in the BPO industry. The students will also get a platform to understand the true nature of the industry and the long-term career opportunities the industry offers.

Mr Subba Rao Ghanta, State Chief Information Officer and EO Special Secretary to Chief Minister and P Raghuveer, IFS, Additional Secretary to Government, Information Technology and Communications Department, formally inaugurated the opening of the program with the lighting of the lamp on May 30.
